Singer / Songerwrite / Percussionist QSoul of Raleigh, NC is a guy that is so incredibly talented that it’s hard to imagine how and why the world doesn’t know and love everything he does. I think it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the world finds out about what you’re about to find out about.
“Hallelujah” could easily have been QSoul’s first word. Born Quentin Jones, he was the fifth of nine children with the strongest roots in the Pentecostal church. His parents, Charles and Allie Jones, were active evangelists reaching out in the ministry frequently, leaving little time or resource for daycare, so each child got first hand training in outreach ministry. Singing since he was able to speak Quentin was taught as many songs as he could grasp. First came the short and somewhat nursery tunes like B,I,B,L,E, and eventually the inspiration for his nickname “Whisper”, after a popular tune ‘Whisper a prayer’, still used by some of his closest relatives. QSoul was first noticed by the public when he was 6 with a well received performance in a Christmas singing program at his elementary school. He was again appreciated for his gift a year later during a performance of ‘How great Thou Art’ at the tender age of 7, a crowd-pleaser whenever he performed. Not log afterward, he performed the piece ‘How Great Thou Art‘ for his 4th grade class. As the story goes, Quentin was reluctant to perform for his peers, but encouraged by his mother (Now Pastor Allie V. Jones), his talent was easy to hear and love. Music was never far away and His parents continued with their ministry forming choir after choir with all the children of the family involved. Eventually, writing, performing songs and working with one of his younger siblings led him to the realization of music as a helper, a healer, and a companion, QSoul has always held the desire to reach out in the name of peace and love for Humanity and the Soul… –MySpace
