Obscure Movie Night 103: Dark Side of the Moon

Dark Side of the Moon (1990)

In the near-future a maintenance vehicle is orbiting the earth on a mission to repair nuclear-armed satellites. Suddenly they experience a mysterious, inexplicable power failure that they cannot account for. As the ship grows increasingly colder they find that they are drifting toward the dark side of the moon. An old NASA shuttle, the Discovery, drifts toward them, despite the fact that NASA has not been operating for 30 years. Two of the crew board the ship and find a dead body. The crew’s own ship records indicate that the shuttle they have happened across disappeared into the Bermuda Triangle many years before. So what is it doing in space? As they attempt to solve this mystery it quickly becomes apparent that a malevolent force had been waiting on the NASA shuttle, and now it begins to stalk the crew one at a time. This malevolent force turns out to be the Devil, banished by God to the dark side of the moon. The Devil now feeds on the souls of any mortals who enter the Bermuda Triangle or the space corridor between Earth and the moon. –Wikipeda

Obscure Movie Night 102: Nude on the Moon

Nude on the Moon (1961)

Working with a large sum of inherited money, two scientists build a rocket to take them to the Moon. Once there, they discover that the Moon’s surface is covered with lush, tropical vegetation and giant golden nuggets. The astronauts are soon captured, however, by a colony of telepathic lunar nudists (who are actually topless rather than completely nude). Much of the film deals with the men’s efforts to collect data documenting their discovery and well as with the burgeoning romance between the younger of the two astronauts and the queen of the Moon people. After they return to Earth, the scientists discover that their evidence has been destroyed during reentry. – Wikipedia

Obscure Movie Night 101: The Jacket

The Jacket (2006)

After miraculously recovering from a bullet wound to the head, Gulf War veteran Jack Starks (Adrien Brody) returns to Vermont in 1992, suffering from periods of amnesia. While traveling, he sees a young girl, Jackie, and her mother in despair from a broken down truck, he helps them and moves on. A man driving along the same highway gives Jack a ride and they get pulled over by the police. Suddenly Starks is found on the deserted roadside with a dead policeman, the murder weapon, and a slug from the policeman’s gun in Starks’ body. Although he testifies there was someone else at the scene, his amnesia makes him unbelievable. Starks is found not guilty by reason of insanity, and is incarcerated in a mental institution. – Wikipedia
